Early in the morning, depart to the town of Chuquiqawana located in the hills of the Sacred Valley of the Incas, approximately 80 Kms (50 miles) from Cusco City. Along the journey we will pass through various towns with adobe houses, colonial churches and people who maintain ancient costumes and traditional dress. We will also pass by the Huacarpay and Urcos Lakes, wich are near the Piquillacta Ruins. After an hour and a half, a bus will let us off at the Chuquiqawana River. After listening to the technical and safety instructions from our guides, we will be ready to get started. We will be on the river for about 3 hours, and depending of the water level, will paddle through class III and IV rapids. We will eat lunch as we are leaving the river, and return to Cusco in the afternoon.
