DAY 01 HUARAZ / CASHAPAMPA / LLAMA CORRAL   
We depart from Huaraz at 7:00 am to ravel round the northern side of the Callejon de Huaylas, arriving at Caraz, from where we will head to Cashapampa taking about 2 ½ hours to get there. From this small town, we will trek eastward to the Quebrada Santa Cruz to see the river that is named after it. We will see Quenuales forests and wild birds. Arrival at Llama Corral to camp and stay overnight.
DAY 02 LLAMA CORRAL / TAULLIPAMPA   
We trek again to Taullipampa. But before, we will enjoy the scenic beauty of the Ichic Cocha and Jatuncocha lagoons, and mountains such as Abasraju, Quitaraju, Artesonraju and Rinrijirca. Our camp will be set in Taullipampa, a strategic place to admire the Taulliraju snowcapped mountain. Overnight.
DAY 03 TAULLIPAMPA / PUNTA UNION MOUNTAIN PASS / HURAIPAMPA   
On this journey we will reach Punta Union mountain pass where we will have a splendid view of Taillaraju, Pucaraju, Yanapaccha, and others. Going downhill along a ancient road we will observe the highland wild flora to finally reach the Quebrada Paria, where we will camp. Overnight.
DAY 04 HUARIPAMPA / VAQUERIA (3,500m.a.s.l.)  
This is the last trekking stretch. We will head downhill to the valley of Huaripampa, a typical Andean town. After making contact with its inhabitants, we will reach Vaqueria. From this place, we will transfer on private transportation to the Portachuelo mountain pass (4,768m.a.s.l.). From here, we have the most spectacular view of the highest mountains of the White mountain range (Cordillera Blanca), and while descending we will be able to see the lagoons of Llanganuco, Yungay and Huaraz. |
